1. Suspects break into T-Mobile store, steal nearly $100K of merchandise: DC police (fox5dc.com) — Police are asking Washington residents for help after two armed suspects robbed a T-Mobile store on the 800 block of H Street NE, forcing workers and a customer into a back room and stealing nearly $100,000 in merchandise. Investigators are offering up to $10,000 for tips leading to an arrest and indictment, and encourage anyone with information to call or text anonymously.
   

2. Three D.C. police officers rescue man from burning home in Southeast (wusa9.com) — Three D.C. police officers rushed into a burning Southeast Washington, D.C. home and pulled an elderly man to safety before fire crews arrived, despite having no formal fire training. The man was hospitalized for smoke inhalation, and investigators believe the accidental fire started in the kitchen. The officers, all on the force less than five years, say the risk was worth it to save a life.
   

3. ‘Going to die tonight': Man kidnaps, assaults ex-girlfriend in DC. Bystander rescues woman after escape attempt (wavy.com) — A Chantilly man has been sentenced to six years in prison after kidnapping and brutally assaulting his ex-girlfriend in Washington, D.C., where a passerby ultimately intervened and called 911. Prosecutors say he drove her from Virginia into the District, repeatedly threatened to kill her, and strangled her before stopping at a Northeast gas station, where the bystander’s quick action likely saved her life.
   

4. Georgetown beats Coppin State 97-67 as Hoyas coach Ed Cooley sits out due to one-game suspension (wtop.com) — Georgetown fans in D.C. saw the Hoyas cruise past Coppin State 97-67 at home, even with head coach Ed Cooley serving a one-game suspension for throwing a water bottle in a prior loss. Julius Halaifonua led the way with 20 points and eight rebounds as Georgetown built a huge halftime lead and never looked back.
