WASHINGTON, DC — Exelon Corp. has committed $5 million for a bridge that would span the Anacostia River and connect Washington Navy Yard and Anacostia Park, according to a report.

The Washington Business Journal reports that Exelon will help fund the 11th Street Bridge Park project mostly for a 3,230 square foot environmental education center and clean energy installations like smart lighting and electric vehicle charging stations.

It would be the first elevated public park in the District, and would go on the piers of the former 11th Street Bridge.
