D.C. Residents To Rally For Children's National At 'Race For Every Child'

More than 4,000 participants—including current and past patients—will participate in the event to support Children's National Health System.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Children's National Health System will host the fifth annual Race for Every Child 5k run/walk and Kids Dash to raise money for therapies, research, education programs, family support services and more at Freedom Plaza in downtown D.C. Saturday, Oct. 21.

The goal of this year's Race for Every Child is to raise $1.5 million for the hospital. More than 4,000 runners, walkers and Kids' Dash participants will take part in the event—including current and former patients of the hospital, doctors, nurses and other hospital employees. This is one of the largest community events focused on children's health in the D.C. region and raises critical funds to help kids grow up stronger, the press release states.

Along with a 5K down Pennsylvania Avenue, participants can expect games, face painting, superhero meet and greets, an awards ceremony and more. The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Freedom Plaza, located at 1455 Pennsylvania Ave. NW.
