Dangerous Heat Timeline: Washington, D.C., Weather Forecast

A heat advisory has been issued for the much of the region beginning at noon, according to the National Weather Service.

For several hours Thursday afternoon, temperatures across most of the region will feel like it is more than 100 degrees outside.

A heat advisory will be in effect for the Interstate 95 corridor from noon until 8 p.m., due to the potential for heat illnesses, according to the National Weather Service.

The rest of the area will have a heat index, or "feels like" temperature, between the mid 90s and 100 degrees.

"Mostly sunny skies have allowed for temps to rise quickly this morning," according to a weather service statement.

There is a limited potential for thunderstorms Thursday afternoon, but any storms that do appear could bring heavy rainfall.

11 a.m.: 97 degrees

noon: 99 degrees

1 p.m.: 101 degrees

3 p.m.: 103 degrees

6 p.m.: 102 degrees

7 p.m.: 98 degrees

8 p.m.: 94 degrees
