The fireworks will be launched from West Potomac Park and will be visible from many locations throughout D.C. and Northern Virginia. The fireworks will be cancelled in case of heavy rain, thunderstorms or high winds."
WEATHER: Thursday's weather could be a bit dicey. While we should see some sunny skies with temperatures at around 90 degrees -- typical for July -- there's a strong chance of scattered thunderstorms both in the afternoon and the evening that could put a damper on things.
TRANSPORTATION: Avoid driving, as there will be no place to park and many roads will be closed off. Ridesharing is also likely to be difficult. Your best bet is to take the Metro to stations near the National Mall, such as the Smithsonian.
