The new coronavirus has changed life for all of us. Local businesses have taken a huge economic hit, but communities are finding creative ways to support the establishments they know and love.

Tell us about your business and its history in your town.

We are the extra pair of hands at your events so you can enjoy yourself. We provide bartenders, waitstaff, servers and event planning. We assist with set-up, maintaining the bar, the buffet and clean-up so the client can just be a host(ess). Our niche is smaller events of five to 200 guests. We pride ourselves in details and providing a first-class service that allows the client and guests to enjoy themselves.

This business was started back in 2001 when a client needed some help while entertaining at home. The response has been overwhelming, and the word spread through the DMV. We topped Angie's List Super Service Award for our industry. Our staff and subcontractors are the best in the industry — hotel banquets, caterers, catering, restaurants, bartending schools and our reviews reflect that service.

How has the new coronavirus impacted your business and its employees?

All of our events have been canceled because of the restraints put on the public. Many clients had events scheduled far in advance and yearly because they are repeat customers and want to make sure they get on our schedule. Our first concern is for our clients and staff, so we had no problem putting both of them first.

How can local customers support you now and in the future?

It is our hope that once social distancing and quarantine has been lifted, along with people feeling comfortable again, they will want to celebrate with family and friends. Hopefully, the end of the year and next year will be better and safer for all.

Do you have any words of encouragement for your community?

We will want to celebrate and have fun again with our family and friends. Xtra Pair of Hands DC promises to be here to help so you can enjoy.

Are there any other outstanding businesses in town you think deserve some community support?

Our small businesses such as restaurants need us to support their take-out and delivery services, and I do every chance I get.
