Garth Brooks Joins Lengthy Roster Of Biden Inauguration Acts
A star-studded concert is set to follow Wednesday's inaugural ceremonies.

WASHINGTON, DC — Country music superstar Garth Brooks is the latest musician to announce he will perform during the Wednesday inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Brooks revealed he is booked for the inauguration in a news conference on Monday, saying his performance "is not a political statement; this is a statement of unity."
The artist said his father and brothers served the U.S. by serving in the military. For Brooks, performing at the Biden is his way of giving back to his country.

"This is history, and it’s an honor to get to serve," he said. "This is kind of how I get to serve this country."
Brooks performed his song "We Shall Be Free" at President Barack Obama's inauguration on Jan. 20, 2009, but did not perform at President Donald Trump's inauguration.

During the conference, Brooks declined to say which song he will perform on Wednesday but said he's preparing two or three patriotic songs.
"There are plenty of songs of love and unity you can choose from,” he said.
Performers Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez And Kerry Washington are set to perform during Biden's inauguration, which preceeds a televised "Celebrating America Primetime Special" at 8:30 p.m., EST, on Wednesday.
The event, hosted by actor Tom Hanks, will also include performances by and appearances from Ant Clemons, Jon Bon Jovi, Foo Fighters, John Legend, Eva Longoria, Demi Lovato, Bruce Springsteen and Justin Timberlake, according to Biden's official inauguration website.
Former presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, along with former first ladies Michelle Obama, Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton, are also set to attend the event.
The primetime special will be broadcast live on ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, MSNBC and PBS. It will also be streamed live on the inauguration website, across social media and via on-demand channels including Amazon Prime Video, Microsoft Bing, NewsNOW from Fox, and AT&T U-verse (channel 212/1212 in SD/HD) and DIRECTV (channel 201).
Biden's official 2021 Inauguration Playlist — assembled by performer DJ D-Nice and music label Raedio — was also released this week. The playlist, titled "Biden + Harris 2021 Inauguration Playlist" is available on Spotify, Apple Music and other streaming platforms.
The eclectic 46-song playlist includes hits like Hall & Oats's "You Make My Dreams (Come True)" and Salt-N-Pepa's "Whatta Man."
