All Clear After Gas Leak Near White House (Video)
Evacuations are underway at a building across the street from the White House due to a gas leak.

WASHINGTON, DC -- A gas leak at a building under construction across the street from the White House resulted in street closures and evacuations Tuesday morning, but workers were able to get it under control.
Firefighters were called to the 700 block of 15th Street NW at around 9 a.m. to a report of a ruptured gas line inside a building, prompting the evacuation of that building, D.C. Fire and EMS tweeted.
Firefighters evacuated all buildings on that side of the block, and sheltered occupants in place on the other side. The building involved is 10 stories tall and under construction. No injuries have been reported.

Secret Service closed Pennsylvania Avenue NW from 15th to 17th streets NW during the incident. D.C. Fire and EMS tweeted shortly after 11 a.m. that the leak was under control.
