Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams Opens In D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A new ice cream shop now open on the 14th Street corridor is celebrating its arrival by giving out free scoops Thursday, Oct. 5.

While the store is currently open, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams will host their grand opening Oct. 5 at 1925 14th St. NW. Everyone will get free scoops from 7-11 p.m. and the first 50 people in line will also get a swag bag.

The Columbus, Ohio-based company has other locations in Cleveland, Nashville, Chicago, Charleston, Los Angeles, Atlanta and St. Louis. The creamery was founded in 2002 by Jeni Britton Bauer, a James Beard Award-winning author of two cookbooks.

Popular ice cream flavors include Sweet Cream Biscuits & Peach, Brown Butter Almond Brittle, Pistachio & Honey and Wildberry Lavender.
