Lottery participants must register for the lottery by downloading the "Hamilton" app or by visiting the musical's website here.
The lottery is randomized and the order of entry has no effect on your chances of winning. Winners will be notified by email shortly after the lottery closes, at about 11 a.m. the day after the lottery opens, with a link to purchase tickets.

Winners then have until 4 p.m. to pay for their tickets with a credit card online. Tickets that go unclaimed will be forfeited and "used as the box office sees fit," the announcement states.
Winners can pick up their tickets from the Kennedy Center box office with a valid photo ID that matches the name drawn in the lottery.
The lottery will continue until the last performance on Sept. 16. It will open to the public two days before each performance.
Orchestra seats are selling for around $350 online, but one is listed as high as $979.
