Man Dies After Being Hit By Metro Bus In Southeast

A 67-year-old Southwest man has died four days after he was struck by a Metro Bus in Southeast.

WASHINGTON, DC — A 67-year-old man has died four days after he was struck by a Metro Bus in Southeast.

George Blackwell, also known as Hassan Naseef, of Southwest, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, Nov. 4, police announced Thursday.

The incident occurred in the 4400 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave, SE. at about 8:50 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4.

Blackwell was driving a Honda CRV when he passed the stop sign to enter Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SW., and was struck by a Metro Bus traveling northbound, police said.

Blackwell was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the Metro Bus driver did not sustain any injury, police said.
