Man Escapes D.C. Police Custody During Drug Arrest
Police are searching for a man who escaped a drug arrest during a traffic stop in Northwest Washington Tuesday evening.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Police are searching for a man who escaped a drug arrest during a traffic stop in Northwest Washington Tuesday evening.
Police stopped the suspect for a traffic violation in the 600 block of Lamont St. NW at about 7:10 p.m. Officers said suspected drugs were found in the vehicle.
The suspect, who did not have a valid driving license, was placed in handcuffs during the investigation when he did not cooperate with officers and provided false information, police said.

During the course of the investigation, the man was able to escape police custody. He fled from the scene and remains at large, police said. Police have not released any further information on the suspect.
