Man Steals Car With Baby In Backseat: DC Police
Police are searching for a young man who stole a car with a 1-year-old child inside of it in the Brookland neighborhood of Northeast.

WASHINGTON, DC — Police are searching for a young man who stole a car with a one-year-old child inside in the Brookland neighborhood of Northeast Washington Monday morning.
The suspect, described by police as a black male between 17 and 19 years old, entered the unattended running car with a baby inside it Monday morning in the 1800 block of Monroe St. NE. The man fled the scene in the stolen vehicle before leaving it in the 1600 block of W St. NE a short time later, police said.
Police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck told The Washington Post that police believe the suspect did not realize a baby was in the car.

The child was not injured, police said.
Police said the suspect was last seen wearing a burgundy hooded sweater and blue jeans.
