Massive Fire Ravages DC Apartment Building (Video)
A major fire in D.C. on Monday caused significant damage to an apartment building.
WASHINGTON, DC — Flames towered above an apartment building as firefighters battled a two-alarm blaze in Southeast D.C. on Monday (video embedded below).
Firefighters were called to the 4900 block of A Street SE to a report of fire showing on the top floor of a four-story apartment building with no injuries reports, D.C. Fire and EMS tweeted at around 3:30 p.m.
Minutes later, D.C. Fire and EMS reported that a second alarm had been requested for the "heavy" fire, with firefighters actively battling the blaze from the interior. A total of 20 units and 80 firefighters were on the scene or en route, they added.

Less than a half hour later, they had the bulk of the fire extinguished. No one was injured, but residents from 14 units were displaced.
