WASHINGTON, DC -- The Metro Board has unanimously approved a $3.5 billion budget for Metro in 2020 after a vote on Thursday, according to a report.

DCist reports that the budget will include several important provisions, including one that would extend the Yellow Line past Mount Vernon Square to Greenbelt.

The budget would also extend all Red Line service to Glenmont, whereas now many trains stop at Silver Spring, three stops short.
