Millions Of Dollars In Heroin Seized In DC: Report

Police have seized millions of dollars in heroin and arrested two suspected drug dealers, according to a report.

WASHINGTON, DC -- D.C. police have scored one of the largest seizures of heroin in the region, Police Chief Peter Newsham said recently, according to a report.

WTOP reports that police arrested two suspected drug dealers and seized a cache of weapons, millions of dollars in heroin, and a Maserati.

It all started when an undercover agent for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms allegedly bought guns and drugs from a suspect who was arrested in Falls Church, Va. on Dec. 19.

That led to the raid of the suspect's alleged supplier, located on Foote Street in Northeast, which uncovered 40 kilos of heroin, 40 pounds of marijuana, six semi-automatic guns, and the Maserati, according to the report. Police arrested 46-year-old Linwood Douglas Thorne in Baltimore after the raid.

The heroin had a wholesale value of $2.5 million and would have gotten perhaps much more than that on the street, the report states.
