Northbound Baltimore-Washington Parkway Closed After Serious Wreck
Delays have traffic lined to the D.C. border, according to city officials. Mower operator facing life-threatening injuries.

The Baltimore-Washington Parkway has been shut down heading north Tuesday evening after a wreck.
The lanes will be closed for the next several hours, according to U.S. Park Police.
The crash happened near Riverdale Road around 1 mile from the Capital Beltway.

The wreck involved a vehicle and a mower around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to investigators.
The operator of the mower was taken to Prince George’s Hospital Center with life-threatening injuries.

"Investigators have not yet determined if the motor vehicle left the roadway or the mower was not in the median at the time of the collision," according to a Park Police statement.
The incident has backed up traffic to the D.C. border, according to city officials. Motorists are being asked to avoid the area.
Traffic has been diverted onto MD-450. There are also major rubbernecking delays on southbound 295 in the vicinity of the accident.
