• DC man sentenced to prison for killing woman found in Northeast DC dumpster (wjla.com) — A D.C. man has been sentenced to 24 years in prison for killing his ex-girlfriend and leaving her body in a dumpster at Hechinger Mall in Northeast Washington. Prosecutors say he attacked her inside a Northeast apartment building, then disposed of her body with an accomplice. Federal and local authorities credit Metropolitan Police and the U.S. Attorney’s Office team for securing the conviction.
   

• D.C. hemp store owner disputes police claims after shop shut down over THC levels (wusa9.com) — A hemp shop on Connecticut Avenue in Washington, D.C., has been temporarily shut down after police and city cannabis regulators said some products exceeded the legal THC limit. The owner insists everything is federally legal and independently lab-tested, and plans to challenge the findings at an upcoming hearing. The closure comes just days before Christmas, disrupting business and access for regular customers.
