A person is in custody after "suspicious activity" was reported along the north fence line of the White House.

WASHINGTON, DC — A person is in custody after "suspicious activity" was reported along the north fence line of the White House Friday morning, officials said.
Lafayette Park and North Fence line along Pennsylvania Avenue are closed, the Secret Service said.
A Secret Service spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for additional information and the suspect's name has not been announced.

The Washington Post reports said authorities are investigating a suspicious package outside the White House, according to D.C. police spokeswoman Margarita Mikhaylova.
