Police Search For 2nd Suspect In Murder Of D.C. Teen

Kevin Sorto, 20, was arrested for the murder of Yoselis Regino Barrios, 16. A second suspect remains at large, police said.

WASHINGTON, DC — Police arrested a Northwest Washington man for a shooting that killed a teenager Nov. 7, and are searching for a second suspect in the case.

Kevin Sorto, 20, was arrested Wednesday for the murder of 16-year-old Yoselis Regino Barrios. A second suspect— Victor Hernandez, 17—remains at large.

Police were called to the 1300 block of Rittenhouse St. NW at about 8:15 p.m. Nov. 7 for the report of a shooting.

Arriving officers found Barrios and an adult male suffering from gunshots and transported both victims to area hospitals, police said.

Barrios was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, while the adult victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Sorto and Hernandez both face the charge of first degree murder while armed, police said.
