Police Seek Suspect In Fatal Southeast Shooting
A 22-year-old Southeast Washington man has died several days after he was shot on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, police said.

WASHINGTON, DC — A Southeast Washington man has died several days after he was shot on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, police said.
Maleak Coffin, 22, was shot in the 2900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. SE. at about 11 a.m. Saturday, December 23. He succumbed to his injuries in the hospital on Tuesday, December 26.
Police found Coffin unconscious inside a car in the area. He was suffering from a gunshot wound and transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police are offering a $25,000 reward in this case. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.
