Red Line Trains Single Tracking After Electrical Issue

Red Line service is single tracking between Farragut North to Judiciary Square. Expect delays.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Red line trains are single tracking because of fire department activity outside of a D.C. metro station Tuesday morning.

Trains are single tracking from Farragut North to Judiciary Square.

Metro said the delay is due to an “electrical current taking a wayward path, resulting in sparks/arcing from the trackbed.”

Riders can expect single tracking to continue through the end of morning rush hour, Metro officials said.
