Restaurant Suddenly Closes In Downtown DC: Report
A highly touted restaurant reportedly has abruptly closed its doors in downtown D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC — The Meatball Shop has enjoyed quite a bit of success in New York City, where it has six locations, but its latest expansion into D.C. reportedly didn't go so well: the location on 14th Street NW that opened last October has already closed its doors.
Located at 1720 14th Street NW, it certainly had a prime spot in D.C. near Logan Circle, but that apparently wasn't enough with Popville reporting that it was now closed and has been removed from the company's website.
As the name implies, The Meatball Shop specializes in build-your-own meals centered around meatballs.

"The Meatball Shop offers five varieties of meatballs, including classic beef, pork, chicken, veggie, and the daily special," according to a statement from when it opened. "Guests then choose if they'd like their meatballs naked with a side, over pasta or veggies, on a Kitchen Sink salad (greens with seasonally rotating vegetable and grain sides), in a Hero (on a toasted baguette), or a Smash (on a brioche roll with melted mozzarella or provolone!)"
