Rider Who Threw Urine On Bus Driver Gets Jail Time
A DC woman who threw a cup of her own urine at a Metrobus driver was sentenced to jail Thursday.

WASHINGTON, DC — A DC woman who threw a cup of her own urine at a Metrobus driver was sentenced to 120 days in jail Thursday after pleading guilty to simple assault.
Opal L. Brown, 38, of Southeast was arrested by Metro Transit Police officers for throwing a cup of her urine at an X2 Metrobus driver as the bus arrived at Minnesota Ave and Benning Road, NE on Aug. 26.
A judge said Brown must undergo a mental health evaluation, and she was later found competent to stand trial. Brown was eligible for an in-house drug treatment program, but declined the offer and instead pleaded guilty on Oct. 26.

On-board digital cameras captured Brown relieving herself into a cup toward the back of the bus shortly after 6 p.m.
As the bus arrived at the stop, Brown approached the front of the bus and stood in the aisle holding the cup for a short period of time. She then allegedly threw the urine around the protective shield and onto the bus operator, police said.

"She said 'Have a nice day' all sarcastically," Brown told the reporter. "She could have been more courteous."
