Rosie O'Donnell 'Available' For SNL; Team Trump Reportedly 'Rattled' About Sean Spicer Treatment

"i am here to serve," O'Donnell tweeted. But she won't necessarily be playing Trump himself.

Rosie O'Donnell, ever President Trump's pop culture nemesis, said she was "available" to step in for a "Saturday Night Live" impersonation after a report surfaced that the White House was "rattled" by the comedy show using Melissa McCarthy to poke fun at Press Secretary Sean Spicer.

Politico reported Monday night that Trump, who is hyper-focused on image and appearance, didn't appreciate McCarthy's screeching, podium-wielding Spicer.

Here's how Politico described the internal reaction to SNL's spoof:

More than being lampooned as a press secretary who makes up facts, it was Spicer’s portrayal by a woman that was most problematic in the president’s eyes, according to sources close to him. And the unflattering send-up by a female comedian was not considered helpful for Spicer’s longevity in the grueling, high-profile job in which he has struggled to strike the right balance between representing an administration that considers the media the "opposition party," and developing a functional relationship with the press.
"Trump doesn't like his people to look weak," added a top Trump donor.

So the conversation surrounding the SNL skit took a natural turn: Who else can the show cast to further humiliate the TV-conscious Trump?

O'Donnell, a frequent target of Trump's Twitter tirades, would seem to be a natural fit.

Trump, though, already has an SNL persona — and an able one — in Alec Baldwin. So O'Donnell offered up an option herself: Steve Bannon, Trump's husky, scruffy chief strategist.

"i am here to serve - alec has trump - melissa has spice - i would need a few days to prepare - so if called - i will be ready," she said in response to a fan suggestion.

About an hour and a half later, she quoted her original tweet and added: "#BannonInChief"

Then, for emphasis, she said: "available - if called i will serve !!!"

The suggestion was a hit.

It's unclear if we'll get to see these Twitter fantasies become a reality.

For now, let's relive O'Donnell's impression of Trump on "The View" a few years ago, before Trump had dipped his feet into politics:
