SEE: President Obama Is Living Large Post-Inauguration
The president visited the British Virgin Islands and went kitesurfing with Richard Branson.

While his successor fights for the life of a crucial executive order, feuds with two of America's closest allies and complains about news coverage of his administration, President Obama is enjoying his post-elected-office life.
Business tycoon Richard Branson invited the former president out to the British Virgin Islands for some kitesurfing, apparently one of Obama's favorite hobbies before he assumed the most powerful job in the world.
In photos posted to the website of Virgin, where Branson is CEO, Obama is seen wearing shades, catching waves and soaking up the sun with the crystal-clear blue waters in the background.

In the post, Branson recalls a story Obama told him about going surfing:
One of the first stories Barack told me when he and Michelle arrived on Moskito Island was how, just before he became President, he had been surfing on a dangerous break in Hawaii. When he came in from an exhilarating session, the new head of his security team turned to him and said: “This will be the last time you surf for eight years.” For the next eight years he didn’t have the chance to surf, enjoy watersports or do many of the things he loved.
