BREAKING NEWS: Police gave an all-clear after they investigated a suspicious package found near the Library of Congress.

(Updated at 12 p.m. Tuesday): WASHINGTON, DC — Police gave the all-clear after a suspicious package was reported near the Library of Congress in Southeast Washington Tuesday morning.
The package was reported at Independence Avenue and 1st St., SE., according to authorities.
U.S. Park Police closed Independence Avenue between 1st Street, SE and 1st Street, SW.
