Washington DC Weather Forecast: Cooler Weekend, But Hot Week Around the Corner

Frost possible during overnight hours. By next week, the lows will be more than 60 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The weekend will be sunny and clear, with some noticeable wind. But we'll soon see a surprising return to hot temperatures, according to the National Weather Service.

Overnight lows will be at 48 degrees Friday. Even cooler temps have forecasters warning of potential frost in some D.C. suburbs to the north and west.

Days will be pleasant this weekend, with a chance for some clouds Sunday and a possible shower Sunday night. The weekend highs will be in the 60s and climbing to near 70 on Sunday.

Next week, we'll be seeing the opposite of chilly mornings, with overnight lows above 60 degrees. The daytime highs could push close to 80 degrees.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 66. North wind around 6 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 66. Calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 7 mph in the morning.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77.
