Watch Live Stream: Jeff Sessions Faces Committee Vote

President Trump's controversial attorney general pick has already been delayed in the confirmation process.

Sen. Jeff Sessions, President Trump's pick to head the Justice Department, faces a committee vote for the role Wednesday after Democrats stalled the vote the day before.

After President Trump's executive order on immigration sparked a backlash, Sessions' nomination became a focus of the Democratic opposition. Trump fired acting Attorney General Sally Yates when she announced she wouldn't defend the order in court. Sessions, on the other hand, previously expressed sympathy for Trump's more radical suggestion of a full ban on Muslim immigration.

This led the American Civil Liberties Union to call for a delay to Sessions' appointment until the order was overturned.

However, with a minority in the Senate, Democrats have few options to actually block the appointment.
