Woman Dies After Northeast Apartment Fire
Officials said the fire was accidental and the victim's apartment had non-functioning smoke detectors.

WASHINGTON, DC — A woman died after she was injured in an apartment fire in Northeast Washington Saturday night.
The fire broke out around 8 p.m. in the 4000 block of 8th St. NE. The woman died the next morning at an area hospital, DC Fire and EMS officials said.
Officials said the fire was accidental and the victim's apartment had non-functioning smoke detectors.
