34-Year-Old Woman Killed In Manatee County Crash

A 34-year-old woman was killed Monday night in Manatee County when she was struck by a vehicle along U.S. 19, according to FHP.

BRADENTON, FL — A 34-year-old woman was killed Monday night in Manatee County when she was struck by a vehicle along U.S. 19, according to Florida Highway Patrol in Bradenton.

Mindy O'Neill of Ellenton, Florida was riding a bicycle without a helmet and safety lights near Bayshore Drive shortly after 7:30 p.m. when the crash occurred.

The driver of the 2005 Dodge 1500 was identified as 53-year-old Keith Hulbert, who was negotiating a right curve while heading north on U.S. 19 at the time of the crash.

O'Neil was traveling with the flow of traffic on the east shoulder approaching Bayshore Drive, according to Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said she failed to ensure all hazards were clear before turning left and crossing U.S. 19.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said O'Neill was thrown from the bicycle when it was struck by the front of Hulbert's vehicle.
