The Pittsburgh Pirates and Bradenton Marauders are hosting the team’s annual Community Commitment Week in Bradenton.
Pirates Community Commitment Week kicked off Monday with the Dominican Republic Clothing Drive and run through Friday.
In conjunction with the clothing drive, players and staff members from the Pirates’ Major League and Minor League teams will help make the holidays brighter at area charities and civic organizations.

- On Tuesday, from 8:30-11 a.m., Pirates’ personnel will assist the Girl Scouts in painting the Girl Scouts Little House on 1801 17th Ave. West, Bradenton.
- The clothing drive will continue at Pirate City until Friday, Dec. 30.
All clothing donations will be given to the Madre Laura Education Center in the Dominican Republic. The Madre Laura Education Center is a partner of Pirates Charities, the philanthropic arm of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
All clothing items will be gladly accepted and put to use, however, the demand is high for children’s summer clothing and children’s tennis shoes.

All Manatee and Sarasota County residents are encouraged to take part in the clothing drive to help those in need. A donation site will be located in the main lobby of Pirate City, 1701 27th Street East, Bradenton, and will be open between 8:30AM-6:00PM Monday through Friday (excluding Dec. 23rd).
Items can also be dropped off at the Reels at McKechnie Event on Friday, December 16th at 1611 9th Street West, Bradenton beginning at 5:00PM until the end of the free movie showing.
