Sounds of the Season 2016: Street Closing Announced
The holiday event takes place along Old Main Street in Bradenton this weekend.
BRADENTON, FL — Bradenton area residents wanting to take in some holiday cheer might want to head to Old Main Street Saturday. Motorists, however, may find steering clear one road in the area is in order.
According to the City of Bradenton, Old Main between Manatee Avenue West and Barcarrota Boulevard will be closed to traffic from about 2 to 11 p.m. Dec. 10. The closing is meant to make way for Sounds of the Season, a holiday event that includes street vendors, snow, caroling, music and even a movie.
The event is set to begin at 5 p.m. and will run until 10. The holiday movie starts at 6 p.m. There’s no cost to attend, but having some cash handy for food and other refreshments might be a good idea.

The lighted boat parade is also set to take place along the Riverfront. It is recommended visitors bring folding chairs for comfort.
