No one was injured after a passenger's battery caught fire on the Delta Air Lines, a media report says.
FORT MYERS, FL — A Delta Air Lines flight heading to Fort Lauderdale from Atlanta was diverted to Fort Myers after a passenger's battery caught fire Monday, according to WBBH-TV. The specific device the passenger's battery was powering was not immediately revealed.
Tracking data showed Delta Flight 1334 was diverted around 7 a.m. to Southwest Florida International Airport. The flight has since landed in Fort Lauderdale and was back in operation, spending the rest of Monday bouncing between the South Florida town and Atlanta.
“We appreciate the quick work and actions by our people to follow their training, and we apologize to our customers for the delay in their travels,” a Delta spokesperson told WBBH.
