FORT MYERS, FL — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

How do you know the local hero?
I know him through visits to his restaurant and posts on Facebook.
What does the local hero do?
He operates several restaurants dedicated to foster children. Since the storm, he and his partner, Amy, have been feeding victims of the storm for free and collecting sweatshirts, pillows, blankets, diapers to distribute to those in need. Check ‘FK Your Diet’ on Facebook for more specifics.
Why do you believe the local hero should be recognized or honored?
Before the storm, he helped numerous foster kids with sneakers, laptops, and clothes. Since the storm, he has worked around the clock to help the victims. His energy is amazing and his heart is as big as the outdoors.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the local hero?
His generosity is boundless.
