The School Board of Lee County will begin to consider redrawing the boundaries for the five single member districts at a School Board Briefing meeting scheduled for 1:00pm on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. The public is invited to attend and offer their opinion and ideas.
The goal of redistricting is to readjust the population between board member districts so that no member district includes substantially more individual residents than the others. If district boundary adjustments are needed, the School Board can make such changes during an odd-numbered year.

School Board districts one through five would be impacted as those members are elected by the residents in that district. Districts six and seven are elected at-large, by residents of the entire county, and would not be impacted.
A special webpage has been established for more information about redistricting. Anyone interested in sharing ideas or comments may do so through that site.
A second board briefing is planned for October 19th, with final approval of any new districts on December 7th.
