1 Person Killed In Miami Beach Crash; 1 Other Injured

MIAMI BEACH, FL -- One person was killed Tuesday night in Miami Beach when a vehicle crashed into a wall. One other person in the vehicle was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, according to Miami Beach police.

Ernesto Rodriguez of the Miami Beach Police Department said the single-vehicle crash occurred at 71 Street and Rue Vendome.

"Two occupants inside of the vehicle at the time of crash, one of the occupants has died on the scene," said Rodriguez shortly after 8 p.m. "The remaining occupant is being transported to the Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital."

Rodriguez added that motorists should expect delays in the eastbound lanes along 71 Street. Police initially thought there might have been a third person in the vehicle but that proved incorrect.
