$500,000 In Watches Missing From Miami Apartment
More than $530,000 in watches were snatched from a Miami apartment and police suspect the pricey timepieces were taken by a female visitor.

MIAMI, FL -- More than $530,000 in watches were snatched from a Miami apartment and police suspect the pricey timepieces were taken by a female visitor who insisted on leaving wrapped in a blanket.
Officer Michael Vega of the Miami Police Department said that the watches were taken between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Jan. 26. The apartment is located in the Paraiso Bay Residences at 650 NE 32 Street.
"The victim and his friend, who was visiting from the Netherlands went to a club in Miami Beach where they met the suspect," said Vega. "Later, the next morning the victim’s friend invited the suspect to the victim’s apartment. The victim’s friend and the suspect left the club and headed to the victim’s apartment. Once they arrived at approximately 4:15 a.m., they continued drinking and the victim’s friend began to feel ill and drowsy."

Police released surveillance video of the woman taken from an elevator. Watch below:
When the victim and another friend arrived at the apartment around 6 a.m., they found the woman the friend from the Netherlands on the living room couch.

"The suspect became upset and asked the victim’s friend to go with her to the bedroom where they fell asleep," said Vega. "At approximately 10 a.m. the suspect woke up the victim’s friend and asked him to walk her out because she wanted to leave."
Vega said the woman had a gray blanket wrapped around her and refused to take it off.
"The victim’s friend walked her down and asked the desk clerk to call her a taxi," Vega said. "They waited in the lobby for the taxi. When the taxi arrived, she left and the victim’s friend returned to the apartment."
The watches were discovered missing around 2 p.m. by the victim, who called police.
The woman is described as 25 to 35 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall, approximately 110 pounds with long brown hair.
"She was last seen wearing a short blue dress," Miami police said.
