Boat Bursts Into Flames At Haulover

MIAMI, FL -- A boat burst into flames Sunday night in Haulover Park, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

A spokesperson for the agency said the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. near the sandbar. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue’s Fire Boat 73 and Fire Boat 21 responded responded to the blaze.

"When the Fire Boat 21 arrived, the crews found a fully involved boat fire," the Miami-Dade Fire rescue spokesman said. "They approached the vessel using the 'deck gun' to extinguish the fire."

The spokesperson said crew members confirmed no one was on board. The vessel was then towed back to a marina.

"No one was injured and the cause is under investigation," the spokesperson added.
