Boynton Beach Cops Open Fire, Killing Murder Suspect
A woman was fatally shot at a Boynton Beach apartment complex and officers opened fire on the suspect, according to police.

BOYNTON BEACH, FL -- A woman was fatally shot at a Boynton Beach apartment complex Wednesday morning and five officers shot and killed the suspect during the police response, according to the Boynton Beach Police Department.
"No officers were injured," said Stephanie Slater of the Boynton Beach Police Department. The incident happened around 7:01 a.m. at the Manatee Bay Apartments, 1632 N Federal Highway.
"The preliminary investigation has determined that a man and woman were involved in a dispute. She was trying to flee and he shot her. She has died," said Slater.

"He was still shooting when officers arrived on scene. Officers shot the man. He has died," Slater said.
Boynton Beach police will investigate the fatal shooting of the woman while the Florida Department of Law Enforcement will investigate the officer-involved shooting, according to Slater.

The Boynton Beach Police Department Internal Affairs Division will also conduct an administrative investigation.
"The officers involved in the shooting will be placed on routine administrative leave during the investigation, which is department policy," added Slater.
She later said all five officers involved in the shooting had been placed on leave.
The name of the female victim was being withheld by police under Marsy's Law.
"Detectives are still working to notify the suspect’s next of kin," Slater said.
