Dangling Motorist Saved By Miami-Dade First Responders: Photos

PHOTOS: A dangling motorist was plucked from disaster by Miami-Dade first responders when the woman's SUV crashed through a barrier.

MIAMI SPRINGS, FL -- A dangling motorist was plucked from certain disaster Thursday by Miami-Dade first responders when the woman's SUV crashed through a barrier of a second-story parking garage.

The white vehicle could be seen dangling off the side of the garage with its nose pointing toward the ground as horrified onlookers watched from.

A spokesperson for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said the harrowing rescue took place around 4:25 p.m. near South Royal Poinciana Boulevard and Oakwood Dr. in Miami Springs.

"A total of 11 units responded to this incident, including a technical rescue team and a specialized heavy rescue vehicle," the spokesperson said. "The technical rescue team utilized the specialized vehicle to secure and stabilize the car so they can proceed to assist the person inside the vehicle."

The spokesperson said one of the first responders helped the woman out of the vehicle once it was stable.

"The person was uninjured and did not need a transport," the spokesperson added. "No word on the cause of the accident."
