FL Reports One-Day Jump In Coronavirus Deaths, 9,008 Cases
Here is the latest total of coronavirus cases for each of Florida's 67 counties as of Thursday night.

TALLAHASSEE, FL — The number of coronavirus cases in Florida climbed to 9,008 Thursday night as the number of deaths jumped from 101 to 144 in less than 24 hours.
The one-day increase in deaths appears to be the largest in Florida since the first cases of the virus were reported in early March.
Thirteen of the new deaths were reported in Miami-Dade County and four were reported in nearby Broward County which account for more than half of the state's confirmed cases along with Palm Beach county, which reported five new deaths. Lake County reported its first death while Flagler county reported its first two deaths as did Sumter County. Sarasota County reported four new deaths and Hillsborough County reported two.

Pinellas County reported one new death as did Clay County and Santa Rosa County. Duval County reported five new deaths. Orange County and Osceola County each reported three new deaths while Polk County and St. Lucie County each reported one new death.
Florida's total included 1,167 hospitalizations and a positive test rate for the virus of 11.1 percent based on 80,356 tests throughout the state.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis's order directing Floridians to remain home unless they are engaged in "essential services" and "essential activities" was to take effect at midnight Thursday. See FL Governor Restricts Movements Of Residents: Coronavirus
With 2,886 cases, Miami-Dade County has the most confirmed cases of any of Florida's 67 counties. Broward County, which has a much smaller population than Miami-Dade, has 1,481 cases. Palm Beach County, which is just north of Broward County, has 737 cases.
Hillsborough County, which includes Tampa, has 404 cases. Orange County, which includes Orlando, has 541 cases.
Only eight counties were left without any confirmed cases as of Thursday, down from 15 on Sunday.
