Florida Model Seen Kicking Small Dog In Elevator Gets Probation

WATCH: A Florida model can can be seen repeatedly kicking her small dog in the elevator of her upscale waterfront condominium building.

AVENTURA, FL — A 26-year-old Instagram model and singer has been given four years probation after Florida police obtained video of her repeatedly kicking her small dog in the elevator of her upscale waterfront condominium building. Keevonna Wilson had been charged with animal cruelty in connection with the Sept. 20, 2017 attack. The incident took place at the Artech Residences of Aventura not far from Miami.

Sgt. Chris Goranitis of the Aventura Police Department said at the time of Wilson's arrest that the dog was removed by Miami-Dade Animal Services and given medical treatment.

Surveillance video released by police showed Wilson allegedly chasing the dog into a back corner of the elevator where she appeared to kick the animal about 10 times with her right leg. Wilson could then be seen allegedly following the frightened dog to the other corner of the elevator where she appeared to kick the animal at least five more times.

According to Miami-Dade County court records, Wilson paid court costs of $598 stemming from her arrest and prosecution. In addition, Local 10 News reported that Wilson must write a letter to the court addressing the animal abuse and was banned from purchasing, adopting or caring for another animal for three years while being made to pay the $2,795 costs of caring for the injured dog.

"Only a coward and a bully would viciously kick a terrified dog to assert her own pathetic idea of dominance," said Bell. "Animals rely on us to protect them and prosecutors were right to include a prohibition on contact with animals in this woman's sentencing."

Wilson, whose Instagram page has 53,000 follows, appears in a music video called "Flawless Nobody." A number of the comments on YouTube noted the elevator incident.
