1. Centner Academy has reversed course on its 30-day quarantine for students who get the COVID vaccine. The school was the subject of criticism nationwide for the move. The State Department of Education said the rule was under investigation and threatened to pull the academy’s funding. (WSVN)
2. 21-year-old Trevon Darling drowned while celebrating his birthday on a boat in the Miami River. The police report of the incident says Darling jumped off the back of the boat at around 9:30 p.m. on his way back from the party was not able to be brought back to life. The family says he knew how to swim and is awaiting an autopsy report. (NBC Miami)
3. Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo on Tuesday defended his decision not to wear a mask when attempting to meet with a state senator who told him she had a serious medical condition and is being treated for breast cancer. Ladapo said he cannot communicate clearly "when half of my face is covered." (CBS 4)
4. A man with a machete chased after a Minnesota family visiting Miami Beach Saturday night. 38-year-old Milot Richards was reportedly angry that a family was speaking Spanish. Richards has been charged with six counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of crystal meth. (Miami Patch)
