Miami-Dade Firefighter Airlifted After Suffering Injury
A Miami-Dade firefighter was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center Monday after suffering an injury.

MIAMI, FL -- A Miami-Dade firefighter was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center Monday after suffering an injury inside a fire station.
A spokesperson for the agency said the firefighter suffered the injury around 11:47 a.m. at Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Station 16. The fire station is located at 255 NW 4th Ave in Homestead.
"One of our firefighters was injured while performing a daily duty at the station involving cooking," the spokesperson explained. "Due to the type of injury sustained the firefighter was airlifted to a trauma center."

The spokesperson added that the firefighter was doing well and is expected to make a full recovery. He was not identified.
