Here are the top stories today in Miami:

1. A jury in Ft. Lauderdale has convicted a Connecticut man, 48-year-old Edward Walker, of sex trafficking at the 2020 Super Bowl in Miami. He faces up to life in prison when he is sentenced in January. (NBC Miami)

2. Little Havana's Ball & Chain is reopening. In a statement posted on social media, the venue mentioned "the City of Miami's unlawful conduct aimed at destroying our landmark establishment" as a reason for its temporary closure. The company that owns Ball & Chain is in litigation with the city and is seeking $27.9 million dollars. (Miami New Times)

3. Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo, a top health official in the state, refused to wear a face mask when meeting with a state senator recently diagnosed with breast cancer in her office. Ladapo was recently appointed to the position by Governor Ron DeSantis. Senate President Wilton Simpson (R-Trilby) sent a memo Saturday night criticizing what occurred and numerous Democrats have now condemned the encounter. (Patch Tallahassee)

4. Downtown Miami electric cargo bikes from DHL Express, a shipping and delivery company, are here to stay. The cargo bikes can pull up to 400 pounds and can only be used to deliver goods, packages, and services. (Miami Today)

5. New Food Hall: Downtown Miami’s new Citizens Culinary Center at MiamiCentral is opening on November 8th. The opening will coincide with the restart of Brightline service to MiamiCentral. The brands opening there will be EllaMia, Cindy Lou's Cookies, Umami Burger, Sam's Crispy Chicken, and Cicci di Carne. (The Next Miami)
