Miami Police Officer Opens Fire During Domestic Violence Call
A Miami police officer responding to a domestic violence call opened fire on a man in the 300 block of SW 37 Avenue.

MIAMI, FL — A Miami police officer responding to a domestic violence call on Tuesday opened fire on a man in the 300 block of SW 37 Avenue. The man was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospitals Ryder Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead.
Miami police said they found a woman at the scene who was injured but they did not say what happened to her. She was listed in stable condition at Ryder Trauma Center.
Miami Police Chief Jorge Colina told reporters that his officers recovered a weapon at the scene. The incident unfolded around 9:15 a.m. Police did not immediately identify the man who was shot or the woman.

"Once officers arrived, they located a male suspect at which point one of the officers was forced to discharge his firearm.," said Officer Kiara Delva of the Miami Police Department.
As with all police shootings involving the Miami Police Department, the case is being investigated by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
