MIAMI, FL -- The Miami skyline will be bathed in green and blue lights on Friday to mark National Donate Life Blue and Green Day as top entertainers take to the stage for an important cause.

"The South Florida Donor Programs will be hosting two concerts in Miami-Dade County to share the importance of registering your decision to be a donor, honor deceased and living donors and celebrate the lifesaving and healing gift of transplantation," according to organizers.

The event is intended to also call attention to the fact that there are 5,304 people waiting for an organ transplant across Florida.

"This will be a celebratory event commemorating local lives saved and positively impacted through the gift of donation," organizers added.
