Miccosukee Police Department Mourns Loss Of Officer
The Miccosukee Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its officers who was killed early Saturday morning in a head-on collision.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- The Miccosukee Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its officers who was killed early Saturday morning in a head-on collision. The crash occurred shortly before 5 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 just west of U.S. 27 in Broward County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Officer Steven G. Greco was airlifted to Broward Health Hospital, where he passed away. The driver of the other vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, Florida Highway Patrol said.
The other driver was identified as 32-year-old Curtis E. Woolwine II of Hollywood, Florida.

The Broward Sheriff's Office tweeted, "There is no jurisdiction when it comes to a loss."
WPLG TV in Miami reported that Greco and his wife are expecting their first child. He was reportedly on his way home from work at the time of the crash.

Florida Highway Patrol said Woolwine's 2016 Chevy Sonic was traveling west on the eastbound left lane of southbound Interstate 75 when it struck the front of Greco's 2018 Dodge Charger.
The results of a blood alcohol test were pending in the case of Woolwine, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Greco's test was negative.
The crash remains under investigation.
