“This free community concert will be a special occasion to promote the Italian music and language,” said Maestro Casellati. “Our goal is to make people fall in love with classical music, thereby bringing a new audience to local theaters. Miami is an international hub filled with millennial, music aficionados, families and tourists, whom we feel would appreciate this rare performance.”
Last year marked the second presentation in New York’s Central Park before an audience of thousands.
Saturday's performance will be focused on arias and duets from Verdi’s “Traviata” and Puccini’s “Tosca.”
“Music is a universal language, and especially for my country it represents its history and culture,” said Cristiano Musillo, Consul General of Italy in Miami. “Through this concert, Italy and Maestro Casellati have chosen Miami to become the international stage for this incredible opera lirica concert. Once more, this is a tangible sign of how strong and long-lasting the bond is between Italy and the city of Miami.”
The event starts at 8 p.m. in Regatta Park, 2699 SW 27th Ave.
It is supported by the city of Miami and the Consulate General of Italy in Miami.
The event was made possible by ENI, BEL Real Estate Group, Brooks Brothers, Intesa Sanpaolo, the Alexander Bodini Foundation, FIAC, ACP Group, W South Beach, Mela Holding Group spa and 'O Magazine.
